Using Lync Online with a Mac

This TechNet post talks through how to get a Mac going end to end with Office 365:

At this stage the download of the Microsoft Lync for Mac 2011 client is only available through the Volume Licensing Service Center, we expect that at some point it will be available through the Office 365 portal.

There have also been reports about having difficulties getting the client to sign in, so if you are experiencing the same issue this page may help:

Lync for Mac 2011 client released

As of October the Lync client for Mac’s will be available – and will support Lync Online as part of Office 365!

I am still waiting on confirmation from Redmond as to whether this will be available for download from the Microsoft Online Portal downloads page.
